Sewing (Orginial from Feb.6, 2006)
These days, I realized I found more and more loose buttons and broken threads in my clothes. One pair of pants and a skirt are in serious conditions. Today, I finally stepped up after studying to do some sewing myself. I opened my drawers and took out a little sewing pouch that my mom gave me before I went to college. The pouch used to have a pair of small scissor and three needles and various bundles of threads with different color, but because of all these years of not using it, the scissors and needles have become all rusty. What is left are the threads. So I took a needle from a separate box and picked the black thread from the pouch and started sewing.
Okay.. the truth is anyone can sew. I can sew, but it just looks bad. Good that I am just sewing buttons, which only involves a couple rounds of sewing. I am sure it will look bad if it goes beyond the buttons. Then I realized how much I need my mom. My clothes are always intact when she was around, because she used to re-sew all the buttons in the new clothes to make sure they are nice and tight. I remember when I went back this time and try to do that myself, I ended up falling asleep in the couch and she did it all for me. That's when I realized family is not only there to solve my big problems, but they can take care of my trivial things too.
