Rotten Banana
Ever since the rotten banana incident. I have come up with a new year resolution, which is to get my own place.
I always thought I am an easy going person to be a roommate with, but lately my tolerance level has gone way down. With my roommate's gf getting laid off, it just made matter worse because she seemed to station in my house during the weekdays and watched HK TV shows all day. Not that it really bothered me since I was at work during that time, but when I came home, there were always remains of her snacks, drinks, food. Someone just doesn't know how to clean up after herself!
Just the past weekend, my roommate and girlfriend once again stayed at my place. I went back home after an entire day at my friend's house. I decided to get something to drink. The second I pulled the fridge door opened, a very strong banana smell came out. And there it was! A blackened half-eaten rotten banana just laid on the rack of the fridge. It almost looked like it was a prank, because it was so nasty. At the same time I couldn't find a reason why someone would just idiotically place it there with no wrappings.... nothing. The whole fridge smelled so strong that I know this piece of shit has been in my fridge for more than 12 hours, and apparently nobody cared to throw it away. I threw the banana away into a garbage bag without hesitation and tightened the plastic bag. Unfortunately it was too late, because the smell no longer came from the banana but from the fridge. Then I realized everything in the fridge had soaked up the rotten banana smell, even my left-over lunch the next day smelled like it.
Now I really missed the days when they stay over at her place. At least I don't feel like I need to make an extra effort to clean up after their mess. I think I am up to a point where I need some physical separation from them. I guess after all girls are not as easy going as guys.
