Food poisoning
My five-day diarrhea finally comes to an end today. I am so glad it's finally over. I no longer need to stare at people's delicious meal while I drink my pedialyte. I still remember my boyfriend let me smell his Hawaiian pizza before he ate the whole thing by himself. That was just cruel... I guess it's a lesson for me to be really cautious about what I eat from now on. But then who would imagine that a piece of fully cooked chicken breast in a hotel's restaurant be so evil and cause so much harm?? If I have to be alert to that, then should I even eat sashimi and steak anymore?
And one more time I am convinced that Chinese medicine is much better than Western medicine. My first treatment was the over-the-counter drug pepto-bismol. It didn't do any good other than slowing down my bathroom time from 15 mins to 1 hour. When my fever and light-headedness persisted, I saw the doctor the next day. This time, he gave me anitbiotics and diarrhea pills. I didn't know what did the antibiotic do, but the diarrhea pills definitely stopped me from going to the bathroom as often. Instead, it created a war in my stomach, where fluids are running back and forth, making constant loud noises to get out. I thought I trusted the doctor, but even eating makes me sick. This is the only time I recall that I didn't like eating at all.
Luckily, I was introduced to a Chinese medicine that has proven to work. So I gave up taking the doctor's pills and switched to the Chinese pills. They were so big that they almost choked me the first time, and it was heavy dose too, like 4-8 pieces. Are Chinese people more daring, experimental or something? But anyhow, it worked like magic. The minute I ate it, I already felt that it' was working for my body. After two times of taking it, it stopped completely.
After eating porridge for days. Today I finally get to eat something else. My diet was so bland that even the first bite of cracker, the first bite of bread taste so good. I can't wait to eat other food to gain back my five pounds. CHIPOTLE, here I come!!
