Women, be alert

Today while we are carrying a casual conversation, she told me that she used to do a lot of things before she got cancer. When she said that, I was completely shocked and terrified because she is so young!! My first guess was woman's most popular cancer and she confirmed that I was right. Although I guessed it right, I still couldn't believe this is true. I used to hear people around late 40s and 50s getting it, but in front of me it's a girl that is under 30 and never had a baby before. Luckily, she found out early enough to get diagnosed with it.

I have come across commercials talking about breast cancer and how a big fraction of women get it. And I am sure every woman have heard about ways to self-test yourself to detect it early if one does gets it. Before, I believed this only applies to older women, so I decided to put myself in denial until I get married and have kids. But her life experience corrected my perception.

For all the young women out there, it is very important to know that we are not excluded. Do your regular check and be preventive before it is too late.
