A series of reminisce

Today during work, I played the songs that I got from my co-worker a week ago. I got all excited when I saw his iPOD list because he has a good collection of old Chinese songs, including Cass Pang and Hacken Lee. When I started playing Hacken Lee's old album in my iPOD, like "Purple Dream", all these melodies are so familiar! I couldn't imagine after so many years, I can still recognize all of his songs in the album. It's really amazing how songs can bring me back a lot of good old-days memory.

My two sisters used to be crazy Hacken Lee fans. They would collect clips from magazine, buy posters and of course buy every possible released album, either cassette or CD. Whenever they get into big fight, they would threaten each other that they would throw each other's Hacken Lee's poster down the window (we used to live on 25th floor). Even though I was still pretty young back then, I remembered I would be at the side watching them and finding it very entertaining. Because of them, I automatically become a minor fan too.

When I listened to 夢少年, it reminds me of his TV show 淘氣雙子星 back in 1989. Back then since we have VCR, my sister recorded it and they replayed and replayed, I felt like I have seen it a million times, I even know what scene did they played the song.

Then I listened to 破曉時份 and 雨中街頭劇. This is when we finally started to buy CDs because we bought a stereo when we moved to Canada. I would remember myself sitting in front of the stereo in the game room and sing along with the lyrics. I also remember a scene when I would be on the exercise bike in the same "game room" and watching the snow falling outside. Back then I was still in elementary school, so there is nothing better to do.

Childhood memory is always the best and most memorable because they are like fantasy life that we couldn't go back into. Because childhood life is so worry-free, I would love to stay there forever, but reality is that we all have to grow, so I would have to leave them behind. I must keep these songs with me, so that at least a fracture of my childhood life would still be with me when I get old.
